
FRESNO, Calif. -- Comments from the National Weather Service on their local storm report indicate that two tornadoes touched down in the Central Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
According to NWS, around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, a tornado touched down near Biola, 8 miles west of Fresno.
A tornado warning was issued for Madera and Fresno counties until 3 p.m. but expired.
The National Weather Service then issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the same storm cell for South Central Madera and Northwest Fresno counties that lasted until 3:30 p.m.
Later, at around 5:17 p.m., NWS issued another tornado warning, this time for Northeast Fresno County towards Auberry.
That warning lasted until 5:45 p.m.
Both storms eventually made their way into the mountains, where a winter storm warning remains in place until Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
